Firearm Arrest in American Canyon
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., Sept. 5, 2025 — Just after midnight on Friday, Sept. 5, American Canyon Police Officers contacted the occupants of a black BMW parked in a handicapped space without a placard in the 2525 Flosden Road residential complex. Officers had previously seen the BMW driving near the area before it quickly turned off, appearing to avoid police. When officers located it a short time later, the car was occupied by two young males.
During the contact, officers observed a firearm in plain view tucked into the waistband of the front passenger, identified as 21-year-old American Canyon resident and Napa County probationer, Joseph Rojas. Both Rojas and the juvenile driver were detained.
The firearm was determined to be a Glock 48, 9mm handgun, loaded and unregistered. Officers also found an open bottle of Hennessy alcohol inside the vehicle.
The juvenile was cited for having an open container of alcohol and released to his parents. Rojas was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on four felony charges and two misdemeanor charges related to firearm possession, contributing to the delinquency of minor and probation violations.
