Arrest Made After Fire Started in Veterans Park
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., Sept. 2, 2025 — On the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 2, American Canyon Police Officers responded to a report of a small brush fire at Veterans Park after city public works employees spotted flames and called police and fire personnel.
Officers located and detained 53-year-old Irineo Aragon on nearby Mini Drive. Aragon, a known transient, had previously trespassed and been arrested at Veterans Park in July 2024 for a separate arson-related incident.
When contacted on Tuesday, Aragon smelled strongly of smoke, was carrying a lighter and was identified by a city employee as being near the fire.
Aragon was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on charges of felony arson, violation of probation and an outstanding warrant out of Solano County.
