August 29, 2025
Hello,
As summer ends, I’d like to thank the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce for organizing another successful season of Meet Me In The Streets. Neighbors, families and friends came together all summer long to enjoy delicious food, support local businesses and share in the community spirit.
This year’s events were a true success, drawing over 18,000 visitors in total. On average each of the three events welcomed over 6,000 people, half of them American Canyon residents and the rest traveling from across the Bay Area, including San Rafael, Fairfield, Vacaville, Sonoma and Oakland. These numbers highlight just how much our community celebrations resonate both locally and regionally.
Looking ahead, we’re recruiting Youth Commissions from American Canyon High School to serve on one of our three commissions. Youth Commissioners serve as the voice of their peers, advocating and providing input and building leadership skills. If you know a senior ready to make a difference, encourage them to apply here. We are also seeking volunteers for The Wall That Heals, a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, in Washington D.C., which is coming to American Canyon this fall. This is a meaningful way to honor our veterans and serve our community.
Together, through events like these and opportunities to get involved, we continue to strengthen our sense of community, making American Canyon the best place to live, work and play.
Take care,
Jason B. Holley City Manager

American Canyon, WE want YOU to volunteer at The Wall That Heals!
The Wall That Heals is a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We are honored to host this incredible tribute from October 16-19 at Independence Park, formerly known as Community Park II. American Canyon is the only city in Northern California to host The Wall this season, and we expect it to draw visitors from across the region.

However, this unforgettable experience won’t be possible without your help. We’re looking for volunteers to assist visitors at the exhibit, bring history to life at the mobile education center, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the visitors tent and more. Please check out my short video for more information!
As a veteran of the United States Navy, it is my responsibility to honor and remember those who served, and the families who stood beside them. Whether you’ve got a few hours or a whole day, your time can make a difference. Sign up to volunteer at AmericanCanyon.gov/TheWallThatHeals.
History is coming to our community — this is your chance to be part of it!
Together in service, Mayor Pierre Washington

New Overnight Parking Rules on Broadway St and City Lots
To improve safety, overnight parking from 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. is now prohibited on Broadway Street and in City-owned lots. This helps prevent long-term storage of vehicles, boats, RVs and trailers. Signs are being installed first along Broadway St from 2801 Broadway southward, with other locations to follow.
