Reckless Driver Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit Through American Canyon
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., Aug. 26, 2025 — On Sunday, Aug. 24, just before 1 a.m., a police pursuit ended with the arrest of a reckless driver who had fled an illegal sideshow and intentionally rammed a police vehicle.
The incident began when an American Canyon Police Department (ACPD) K-9 Officer attempted to stop a Toyota Scion near the intersection of Flosden and American Canyon Roads after observing the vehicle driving erratically. The driver, later identified as 20-year-old Jordan Vazquez Hernandez, a resident of Rohnert Park, was fleeing the scene of an active sideshow in Vallejo, near Fairgrounds Drive and Corcoran Avenue.
As the officer initiated the stop, Hernandez accelerated and led officers on a pursuit that initially headed southbound toward Vallejo. In the early stages of the chase, Hernandez intentionally collided with the pursuing K-9 officer’s patrol vehicle, disabling it. Fortunately, the officer and his K-9 partner were uninjured in the crash.
Despite the collision, other ACPD units continued the pursuit. Hernandez then turned northbound, recklessly navigating through city streets, running red lights and stop signs. At the intersection of Highway 29 and Donaldson Way, Hernandez’s vehicle was struck by an unrelated motorist. That driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.
After the crash, Hernandez continued to flee northbound on Highway 29 until his vehicle finally became disabled near Lombard Crossing. Officers quickly took him into custody without further incident.
Hernandez, who was found to be unlicensed, was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on driving without a license and four felony charges that included:
- Felony evading with willful disregard for public safety
- Evading an officer causing injury
- Leaving the scene of an accident
- Assault with a deadly weapon
