TWO ALARM RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE, FIREFIGHTERS INJURED,
GOLDFINCH DRIVE, AMERICAN CANYON
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif. – On the evening of August 13, 2025, the American Canyon Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Goldfinch Drive. The call was received shortly after 10:00 p.m.
Firefighters arrived to find active fire conditions within the residence. Thanks to a coordinated and rapid response, the fire was contained to the involved structure. No residents or community members were injured, and no additional structures were threatened.
Mutual aid assistance was provided by Vallejo Fire Department, CAL FIRE/Napa County Fire, Napa Fire Department, and Fairfield Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. An American Canyon Fire Protection District engine crew has remained on scene through the night to monitor conditions and ensure complete extinguishment.
Unfortunately, two firefighters sustained minor injuries during operations. Both are reported to be in good condition.
This marks the second time in less than a week that properly working smoke alarms have played a critical role in alerting occupants to danger and saving lives in American Canyon.
“Our community benefits greatly from the strong relationships we have with our neighboring fire agencies,” said Fire Chief Geoff Belyea. “The quick, coordinated response last night prevented a potentially larger incident and ensured the safety of our residents. Working smoke alarms save lives — and we’ve seen that proven twice in the last week.”
The American Canyon Fire Protection District reminds the public to always have working smoke alarms and an emergency evacuation plan in place.
