Hello,
As we turn the page on 2024, I’m filled with gratitude (and a sense of relief). This past year was extraordinary. I am honored to lead this organization dedicated to improving the lives of American Canyon residents and businesses.
Of course, I couldn’t do this on my own. The City Council and I are grateful for the efforts of our hardworking staff — thank you for everything you do!
From the outset, we anticipated this year would be full of change, so we prepared and embraced the transition. We said goodbye to long-serving elected officials, employees and friends. Together, we navigated some exciting transformations and overcame new challenges, and I’m thrilled with what we’ve accomplished. Whether it’s being recognized as one of the best places to retire or becoming known as a great place to work, American Canyon is a great place to Live, Work and Play.
I’m excited for the new faces on our team and can’t wait to see what comes next. But what’s exciting is that we’ve started to see a shift in the way we do things — more collaboration, more creativity and more focus on what truly matters to the community. Opportunity abounds!
And the Leadership Team needs your help. Please keep asking questions, seeking improvements and giving feedback. Better yet, apply to serve on one of our citizen advisory commissions or take part in next year’s Citizens Academy. The "status quo" is never enough when we’re trying to do our best for the community, and I believe the bold ideas you bring to the table will continue to shape our future in amazing ways. Together, we’re building something truly special here.
I wish you and your loved ones a safe, joyful holiday season and a wonderful start to 2025.
Take care, Jason B. Holley City Manager

A Message from NVUSD: Accessing American Canyon Middle School
The Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for students. Towards that end, NVUSD recently installed fencing around the perimeter of the American Canyon Middle School campus. This important step helps the school ensure only authorized personnel and students access campus, minimize distractions from outside the school grounds, create a secure perimeter and deter unauthorized individuals from entering school grounds.
We value the American Canyon community and understand that many desire campus access. However, we plan to keep the campus closed before, during and after our learning hours as we focus on providing the safest, most learning-centric campus for our students and staff. We’ll reassess this decision as spring approaches and daylight hours increase. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to provide the safest and highest-quality learning environment for our students.

-
Canyon Oaks Elementary School: Students and staff are enjoying new outdoor learning areas and lunch shelters.
Upcoming Project: Donaldson Way Elementary School: Construction of a new Multi-Purpose Room, outdoor space improvements and pavement work is set to begin in the summer of 2025.
We appreciate our community’s support of Measure A2 and our schools!
