Hello,
Thanksgiving week is finally here, and we are overflowing with gratitude for you — our amazing AmCan community!
This Thanksgiving season reminds us how fortunate we are to have residents who care deeply about making our city a better place — like our 2024 Citizens Academy graduates! To celebrate this year’s cohort, we held a graduation ceremony on Nov. 16, accompanied by a community service project. Our graduates planted raised garden beds by the picnic tables near City Hall, creating a lasting gift for everyone to enjoy. We’re thankful for their hard work and look forward to another successful program in 2025.

But the spirit of giving and involvement doesn’t stop there! If you’re looking for ways to give back to AmCan, consider joining one of our commissions. We’re currently seeking passionate residents to serve on the Planning Commission; Parks and Community Services Commission; and the Open Space, Active Transportation and Sustainability Commission. These roles empower you to be a decision-maker on the issues that matter most to American Canyon. Apply today!
Congratulations and good luck to the American Canyon Wolves in the 2024 North Coast Section Football Championship! The game is set for Saturday, Nov. 30, 7 p.m., at Memorial Stadium in Napa. Go Wolves!
A friendly reminder: City offices and facilities will be closed tomorrow and Friday. Regular hours and operations will resume on Monday, Dec. 2. From our family at City Hall to yours, have a safe and joyful Thanksgiving!
Take care, Jason B. Holley City Manager

 Correct Recology Setout
To ensure a smooth and efficient waste collection from Recology, please remember to place your trash, recycling and compost bins at least three feet away from vehicles, mailboxes or other objects. This step allows Recology trucks to access carts safely and keep the process running smoothly. Please keep in mind that correct setout also includes:
- Placing carts out before 5 a.m.
- Making sure all cart lids are closed
- Cart handles facing curb
Follow the suggested tips above and read the Recology Fall newsletter to learn how to dispose of your waste correctly.

Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) Belong in the Trash — NOT the Drain!
The holiday season is upon us! We know you are excited to cook your special meals and have your family together again. As you prepare your holiday meals, please remember that fats, oils and grease (FOG) should not go down the drain. Click here for more information on how to properly dispose of FOG and other items in AmCan.
