Eric is a marriage and family therapist and a professional clinical counselor, currently serving as the assistant director at E5 Therapy. Eric's path into the mental health field began with his own experiences serving 22 years between two military branches and serving as a police officer. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard in the 1990s, performing in special missions' units both in the U.S. as well as overseas. In support of combat operations, Eric worked alongside other naval and maritime special missions units.
Eric transferred to the U.S. Army and completed training to become a psychological operations (PSYOP) specialist. He also performed as a member of the tactical PSYOP teams and joint special operations elements. Eric retired after completing multiple combat tours, leading detachments, instructing and performing from the company to group level commands in operational assignments.
Eric's personal experience with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other injuries, along with two decades of working on his own mental health after service, provide him a realistic and unique view to applying therapy. This experience equips him to serve his fellow veterans and first responders so they can heal and thrive.
