Transient arrested after disturbance in public gym

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., August 29, 2024 - On Wednesday, August 28 around 5:00 p.m., American Canyon Police arrested 31-year-old transient Elfego Perez Aguilar after he caused a verbal disturbance inside the Fitness 19 gym. He was not a member of the gym and was bothering staff and customers. He repeatedly kept returning to the business despite being asked to leave multiple times and staff called the police. When police contacted him near the location, he refused to comply with their orders, which led to a physical struggle before he was arrested. He also had two outstanding warrants related to previous charges of resisting arrest, which added to the severity of the situation. Ultimately, he was arrested for those warrants, violating his Napa County probation and resisting or delaying a peace officer. Perez Aguilar was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections and was still in custody as of Thursday morning.
