American Canyon Police recover a stolen firearm after being called to Walmart

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., June 27, 2024,12 PM - Just before 5:00 PM on Wednesday, American Canyon Police Officers responded to a report of an assault and shoplifting at Walmart. A Walmart employee reported they were spit on by a shoplifter who left the store with stolen merchandise and drove away in a white Hyundai SUV. American Canyon Police Officers located the described vehicle and suspect driving southbound on Highway 29 near Wal-Mart and made a traffic stop.

The driver was identified as twenty-two-year-old Willow Burdeaux of Oakland. Burdeaux had a loaded Springfield 9mm firearm in her purse. The firearm was reported stolen out of Oregon. Burdeaux was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on five felony charges related to possession of the firearm and assault.
