Officer Involved Shooting After a Vehicle Pursuit
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., January 11, 2024 - On Thursday afternoon January 11, 2024, at approximately 3:15 PM, American Canyon Police Officers (ACPD) made a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation, in the area of southbound SR-29 and American Canyon Road. The driver failed to stop, and a vehicle pursuit ensued into Vallejo. The suspect vehicle became disabled in the area of Souza Way and Gateway Drive. Officers encountered one male suspect and shots were fired by an officer. The male suspect was transported to the hospital and his condition is unknown at this time. A short time later a second male suspect was located and taken into custody. Two firearms were recovered at the scene and the investigation will be conducted by the Solano County Major Crimes Task Force (707) 784-6800.
