Car stop leads to arrest for possession of a ghost gun

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., September 18, 2023 - On Monday morning, just before 12:00 PM, American Canyon Police Officers stopped a silver Nissan in the 200 block of American Canyon Road for not having a front license plate. Once stopped, officers also noticed the rear license plate on the Nissan was equipped with an illegal device designed to conceal the plate when driving with a simple key fob activation. The driver, 25-year-old Oakland resident Michael Collier, had a suspended driver’s license and suspended vehicle registration. During a search of Collier’s vehicle, officers found an open container of marijuana in the center console and an unregistered, loaded Glock 19 firearm under his seat. Officers placed Collier under arrest for two felonies and other charges related to this incident and booked him into the Napa County Department of Corrections.
