Officers look for stabbing suspect after victim runs to Safeway

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., September 12, 2023 - On Tuesday morning, just before 11:30 AM, American Canyon Police Officers received a report of a male stabbing victim who came into Safeway for help. Officers responded and found a 30-year-old male victim on the ground suffering from injuries from a stab wound to his lower torso. The injuries appeared to be non-life threatening. The victim reported that his girlfriend stabbed him at her house, located in the 200 block of Knightsbridge Way, and he ran to nearby Safeway looking for help. He was transported to a local hospital by medical personnel and treated.

Residents who lived near the victim's girlfriend's house on Knightsbridge Way were asked to shelter in place while officers surrounded her home to investigate if she was still inside. With the assistance of California Highway Patrol (CHP) Air and Napa Sheriff’s deputies, officers safely made entry into the house and determined she was not inside. The area was shut down for approximately two hours while this occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
