On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, 6-8 PM, communities nationwide will celebrate National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Here in American Canyon, there are block parties throughout town hosted by residents for their neighborhoods. The list of public parties, open to everyone, is available here. Get to know your neighbors and enjoy the spirit of camaraderie that neighborhood relationships create. City Council, staff, fire and police personnel, and Lobo, Soro, and Marshal will stop at the parties to celebrate with the community.
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility are integral to ongoing work to build a California for all. Earlier this week, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a proclamation declaring July 26, 2023, as "Americans with Disabilities Act Awareness Day," read the proclamation here. Here in American Canyon, we are thrilled to announce a momentous occasion scheduled to take place during the Chamber of Commerce's upcoming "Meet Me in the Street" event on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. To kick off the evening's festivities, the City of American Canyon will proudly host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its first-ever, state-of-the-art, all-inclusive playground, fostering a community of inclusivity and accessibility for all children. Even though the summer season is winding down, there are still plenty of opportunities to get out and have fun in Am Can.
