Greetings, American Canyon Community!
ACPD hopes you are enjoying the Summer season and staying safe. As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our neighborhood secure, we want to share important updates and reminders from the ACPD. Together, we can ensure the well-being of our community. Here's what you need to know to enjoy the Summer safely!
Many of us will be going on vacations during the Summer months. Here are some essential tips to keep your home secure while you're away:
- Notify a trusted neighbor about your absence and provide them with contact information.
- Use timers for lights and consider leaving a radio or TV on to give the impression that someone is home.
- Request the post office to hold your mail or ask a neighbor to collect it for you.
- Avoid discussing your vacation plans on social media platforms to prevent broadcasting your absence.
Summer can bring an increase in bicycle thefts. To protect your bicycle:
- Lock your bike with a sturdy, high-quality lock, preferably a U-lock.
- Secure your bike in well-lit areas with high foot traffic.
- Consider registering your bike's serial number and taking a photograph of it for identification purposes. Also, you can register your bike with us at ACPD for us to return it to you in a timely manner if it is located. Stop by ACPD Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM or find our booth at one of the community events.
