Carjacking Parolee Arrested in American Canyon After a Firearm is Found in her Car

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., April 25, 2023, 9:30 AM - In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 25, 2023, an American Canyon Police Officer made a traffic enforcement stop on a brown Chevy Trailblazer. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 29 near Kimberly Drive and did not have license plates. The vehicle's driver was identified as 24-year-old Tanya Comier of Fairfield, CA. After lying about her parole status, the officer determined Comier was on California state parole for carjacking. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded 9mm Glock magazine was found inside a Sponge Bob backpack. The backpack had paperwork with Comier's name inside it. A loaded Glock 48 9mm firearm was also found inside a hidden compartment inside the vehicle's armrest. Comier was placed under arrest for six felony charges related to this incident. Her charges included prior felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a concealed firearm, and a parole hold. She is currently in custody at the Napa County Department of Corrections, awaiting court.
