Two Arrested After Ditching a Stolen Car and Hiding from Police in Nearby Front Yard

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., April 11, 2023 - On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, around 2:30 AM, American Canyon Police Officers were alerted of a stolen red Honda Civic traveling around the area of American Canyon Road and Interstate 80. Officers patrolled the neighborhoods near American Canyon Road, looking for the car. Shortly before 3:00 AM, an American Canyon Police officer located the stolen car parked in the Via Bellagio neighborhood on Via Pescara.

The driver’s door was open, and the officer saw someone in the driver’s seat when passing by. Once the officer turned around to contact the occupant of the car, the officer saw it was no longer occupied, and only an abandoned dog was inside. With the assistance of Napa Sheriff’s deputies, they found a male and female associated with the stolen car hiding in the front yard a few houses down from where it was parked.

The male was identified as 29-year-old Victor Flores, and the female was identified as 26-year-old Missy Peavy. Both were from Sacramento, where the car was reported stolen. Flores was determined to be on probation for burglary and identity theft, and Peavy had a felony warrant for vehicle theft. In addition to Peavy’s arrest for her warrant, both were arrested for possession of the stolen car, with burglary tools found in their possession and conspiracy to commit burglary. Their dog was safely transported to the Napa County Animal Shelter to be taken care of, and they were transported to the Napa County Department of Corrections and booked into custody.
