March 28, 2023
Hello,
Typically, we start to see the Spring season upon us in March, but not this year! Our valley has continued to experience severe rain and hailstorms, and although the weather is much needed for the drought, it creates havoc on our roadways. ACPD would again like to thank the community for being patient during the inclement weather and roadway closures. Earlier this month, in between rainstorms, ACPD had a great time participating in the Holi Festival, the Hindu festival of colors, love, and spring with our community (see pictures below).

March also is the kickoff to baseball season! Seeing everyone out there for AC Little League's Opening day was great. Thank you to the community for inviting Lobo and ACPD to join the festivities. We had a great time in the parade and high-fiving the teams onto the field! |

ACPD has been receiving fraud reports from our community members, mainly targeting retirement-age victims with false accusations and demanding payments over the phone. If you have family members enjoying their "Golden Years," please assist them with their finances and report any suspicious activity to ACPD. During the upcoming months, ACPD will provide additional in-person education and awareness to our community on these crimes.
ACPD would like to remind parents who are doing school drop-offs and pick-ups to be patient and kind to pedestrians walking, riding bicycles, and driving. Please obey the rules of the road, and if you witness bad behavior, use our motto, "See Something, Say Something." Although we focus on traffic enforcement during these times at our schools, we cannot be everywhere at once. Sign up and take the "We Heart Safe Streets" pledge here.
Respectfully,
Rick Greenberg Chief of Police
