2 STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED AND ARRESTS IN TWO HOURS
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., November 4, 2022, 9:15 AM - On Thursday November 3, 2022, ACPD was involved with the recovery of two different stolen vehicles in a two hour time period, both incidents resulting in the arrest of two male suspects.
The first incident started at approximately 1:00 PM, when ACPD was alerted of a stolen vehicle from Antioch entering the city limits. The vehicle, a 2006 silver Chevrolet 4x4 pickup, was seen traveling westbound American Canyon Road near Newell Drive. An ACPD officer stopped the truck at the intersection of American Canyon Road and Silver Oak Trail. The male driver, 61-year-old Hezekiah Griffin from Napa, was arrested for felony vehicle theft.
At approximately 2:40 PM, an ACPD officer spotted a 2022 white Dodge Charger, which had been reported stolen out of Placerville, in the area of eastbound American Canyon Road and Broadway. The ACPD officer attempted to stop the Charger and the driver failed to yield. A low speed pursuit began and the driver eventually stopped in the area of American Canyon Road and Via Firenze, after the ACPD officer conducted a pit maneuver disabling the Charger. The male driver, 48-year-old James Hudgens of Sacramento, was arrested for vehicle theft and evading officers, both felonies.
Hudgens is currently still in custody at the time of this release with a $50,000 bail. Griffin was released a short time later after booking at NCDC.
