ARREST FOR UNLAWFUL FIREARM POSSESSION

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., October 3, 2022, 12 PM - On Sunday, October 2, 2022, at approximately 9:00 PM, an American Canyon Police Officer spotted a suspicious person and vehicle in the Napa Valley Casino parking lot at 3466 Broadway. ACPD contacted the occupant of the 2018 Toyota truck, Ricardo Rodriguez-Garcia, 24 yrs (listed as a transient in American Canyon), and learned he is on active Probation in Napa County with terms to obey all laws and search and seizure.

ACPD searched Rodriguez-Garcia and his vehicle to ensure he was abiding by the terms of his probation. Inside the driver's side door pocket, officers located a .40 caliber Sig Sauer semi-automatic handgun. Records checked revealed that Rodriguez-Garcia is not allowed to possess firearms due to a criminal protective order that he has been served.

Rodriguez-Garcia was arrested and booked into NCDC on the following misdemeanor charges; possession of a concealed firearm, disobeying a court order and violating probation. He is currently still in custody with a bail amount of $50,000.
