Chief's Message

Hello,
As we speed toward the end of the year, there is still exciting things occurring within the Fire District.
Yesterday we welcomed four new recruits who started their in-house Fire Academy, which is lead by Captain Kenny Diede.
We welcome: Probationary Firefighter/Paramedic Conner Alexander, Probationary Firefighter/Paramedic Eric Hanson, Probationary Firefighter Sarah Bayersdorfer and Probationary Firefighter Chris Heim. You will see them around town and through our social media as they progress through the academy and their probationary period. Please stop, say hello and make them feel welcome!
I would like to personally invite you to our Public Safety Open House on Saturday, October 8th at Station 11 (911 Donaldson Way E). For the first hour, from 11am-12 noon, we will be having a ‘Sensory Sensitive Hour’ for all of our friends that may get overwhelmed with loud sirens and lights. From 12 Noon – 2 pm it will be a little more ‘rambunctious’. We are excited to welcome everyone back to the Fire Station for our first Open House since 2016.
On Monday, October 31st, Firefighters will be handing out candy at both Fire Stations from 6pm – 8 pm. Stop by, say hello and meet our mascot ‘Marshal’.
And lastly, on Tuesday, September 27th, at the Fire District Board Meeting, I was honored to present Fire Executive Assistant Martha Banuelos with her 15 Years of Service pin. Martha has been an interictal part of this organization as it has grown, nurturing everyone along the way. Congratulations and thank you for your continuous hard work, dedication and professionalism you bring to the District every day.
Be safe.
Geoff Belyea
