Suspect Arrested for Lewd Acts at Wal-Mart
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., May 4, 2022, 3:15 PM – On Monday, May 2, 2022, at approximately 7:00 PM, American Canyon Police Officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter (7011 Main St, American Canyon) for a report of lewd acts. Officers were informed that a male inside the store had come in close proximity of a female shopper and her two small children, twice. The man was later identified as 27-year-old Christian Roberts, who is an Oakland resident.
Immediately after the second confrontation with the victim, Roberts walked up behind the female and made contact with her upper buttocks. The victim said Roberts immediately apologized for touching her. However, the female victim felt a liquid substance on her clothing after Roberts made contact.
Roberts fled the scene prior to the American Canyon Police Department’s arrival. ACPD reviewed the Wal-Mart surveillance, which shows Roberts masturbating behind the victim and ejaculating semen onto the victim’s clothing.
ACPD developed investigative leads and learned that Christian Roberts had an active warrant for his arrest, due to a similar incident in Palo Alto. American Canyon Police Officers and Napa County Sheriff’s Department Detectives identified a vehicle in the 500 block of Fairgrounds Drive in Vallejo, where Roberts was thought to be staying.
This morning, at approximately 11:30 AM, the Napa Special Investigations Bureau (NSIB) and Napa County Sheriff’s Detectives took Christian Roberts into custody. During an interview with detectives, Roberts admitted to his acts committed at Wal-Mart. Christian Roberts is currently at the Napa County Jail for misdemeanor sexual battery, indecent exposure, and annoy/molest children. His bail amount is $100,000.
