The City of American Canyon Announces
Housing Element Workshops and Invites Survey Participation

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., March 23, 2022 – The City of American Canyon invites public participation in the City's Housing Element Update for the Planning Period 2023-2031. The Housing Element addresses challenges and solutions to community housing needs. State law requires the Housing Element be updated every eight years. State law also requires the City of the American Canyon to accommodate housing locations for all income groups from low and very low income to moderate and above, and policies to facilitate housing for residents with special housing needs. The Housing Element is included in the American Canyon General Plan and outlines the City's plan to meet existing and projected future housing needs for all economic segments of the community.

Please join us to learn more about the update process and existing housing conditions and trends and participate in interactive exercises where you can share your values and vision for the City's future. There are two workshops scheduled:

The City of American Canyon is surveying to identify any unique housing issues in American Canyon. This confidential survey asks opinions about current housing conditions unique housing opportunities that can influence future housing in American Canyon and the community. The City will use responses to better understand and respond to the community's sentiments about future housing growth in the City. The survey is available at www.AmCan2040.org. Visitors to the site can also subscribe to email notifications when updates are issued on the General Plan Update.
