Vehicle Pursuit Ends With Arrest of Two Wanted Felons
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., March 11, 2022, 11:30 AM –On Thursday March 10th just before midnight, ACPD Officers initiated a traffic stop on a white Dodge Challenger, which evaded ACPD a week prior on March 2nd. On March 2nd ACPD terminated the vehicle pursuit, due to the unsafe driving conditions by the driver of the white Dodge and not having air support in time.
During last night’s incident, ACPD Officers recognized the Dodge on the southern portion of SR-29 in American Canyon, near the Vallejo City limits. Immediately after initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle fled from ACPD and drove the wrong way onto SR-37. ACPD Officers backed off and California Highway Patrol (CHP) air operations monitored the Dodge’s travel. CHP air directed ACPD and Vallejo Police Officers to the Dodge’s location in the 100 block of Mayo Street in Vallejo. The male driver and female passenger fled from the Dodge on foot and were ultimately located at a residence in the 2000 block of Georgia Street in Vallejo.
39 year old Derrick Lyles and 24 year old Daja Fuimaono, both residents of Vallejo, were arrested and booked into the Napa County Jail on a plethora of misdemeanor and felony charges, including evading police and narcotic offenses. Lyles and Fuimaono were also both wanted out of Solano and Contra Costa Counties for numerous felony and misdemeanor charges.
