December 7, 2021
Hello,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with family and friends. It was great to see all of you out at the Reindeer Run and the Magic of the Season Parade & Festival. Lobo and I had a wonderful time with all the photo opportunities.
I’m pleased to announce our own Officer Jose Pinedo has been selected by the VFW Post 1123 as the Officer of the Year. Please join me in congratulating Officer Pinedo on this outstanding achievement!
Also, in the ACPD news, please join me in congratulating Officer Nathalie Hurtado, who has been promoted to Sergeant. Since July, Officer Hurtado has been working as our community outreach officer, including working with the neighborhood watch program. Sergeant Hurtado will be supervising a graveyard patrol team in American Canyon starting December 12th. I’m also pleased to announce long-time ACPD Patrol Officer Maureen Patterson will be your new community outreach officer.
This Saturday, December 11th, from 8:00-10:00 AM, ACPD will be hosting “Coffee and Cocoa with the COPS” at our office located at 911 Donaldson Way East. This will be a great opportunity to share a complimentary warm beverage and speak with myself and ACPD Officers. Kids are also encouraged to join.
ACPD and the Napa County Sheriff DSA participated in the Pink Patch Project, and No Shave November fundraiser events for cancer research during October and November. The Pink Patch Project netted $2,500 in donations, and the No Shave November received $2,900. Thank you to all that participated and donated to the cause.
ACPD and the American Canyon Fire District will be providing the “12 Days of Holiday Safety Tips” to the community starting December 12th. Please follow both of us on social media (ACPD and ACFD) to receive these very helpful tips for the upcoming holiday season.
As a reminder, as we all ring in the new year of 2022, the use of fireworks is illegal in the City of American Canyon, so please refrain from using them.
I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!
Respectfully,
Rick Greenberg
Chief of Police
