October 1, 2021
Hello,
Our community is gearing up for fall with some October events. The American Canyon Friends of the Library is holding another Book sale from October 14-16. Make sure you visit our local American Canyon Library branch to see what books you can get at a discount. Spirithorse is having their annual Halloween party this year on October 30, 2021. Pre-registration is required so make sure to sign up soon. Check out the flyer (link to flyer here as well) in this newsletter to see more. Our local American Canyon 4-H club is having their annual pumpkin sale starting this weekend! Help this club raise money for programs geared towards our youth. American Canyon Troop Support is offering an essay writing contest in honor of Veteran's Day that is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Read through our newsletter to find out more! Lastly, our American Canyon Arts Foundation is partnering with our city to create a Pumpkin Path out at the Wetlands. Start decorating those pumpkins and decorate our Wetlands with your designs.
We also have many opportunities for you to be an active participant in our meetings. Monday, October 4, at 6:00 pm, we will be having a meeting along with the Napa Valley Transit Authority to provide updates on the SR 29 American Canyon Multimodal Improvement Project. This will be very informative and you can join virtually via Zoom. View the bulletin invitation here. Tuesday, October 5, at 6:30 pm, we are having a special joint City Council/Planning Commission meeting to discuss some changes to our city. Make sure you tune in via our YouTube Live stream or visit our website to tune into the meeting.
Please make sure you are doing your part and taking advantage of our Water Portal tool and Recycled Water program. Each drop of water you switch to recycled water can help us reach our drought water reduction goal. If we conserve together, we can all come out of this drought together as a community. Thank you for your continued dedication to our city and embrace this fall weather.
Sincerely,
Jason B. Holley City Manager

Pumpkin Path 2021
The American Canyon Arts Foundation and Kiwanis Club of American Canyon are partnering to create a "Pumpkin Path" at the Wetlands Trail. A Pumpkin Path is a fun spin on a pumpkin patch where painted pumpkins are placed along the Wetlands Edge Trail Path to create a festive addition to our well-loved wetlands. The Painted Pumpkin Path will be open during daylight hours at the Trail through the end of October. To participate, bring your painted pumpkin to Wetlands Edge Trail beginning October 2nd and follow directions on the signs at the site.
Please use paint only and do not attach items to pumpkins; they can become loose and create a hazard for wildlife. The American Canyon Arts Foundation & Kiwanis Club of American Canyon are not responsible for pumpkins and cannot guarantee their return. There will be a designated time to pick up your pumpkin at the end of the event. Any pumpkins left after the pick-up date will be disposed of appropriately.
Check out the Facebook event for the Pumpkin Path for all updates!
