Summer is in full swing! It was good to meet many of you at the 4^th of July and the first Meet in the Street events. Even though the 4^th of July festivities were scaled down this year, the turnout and support were tremendous. It was great to see everyone being able to socialize again, after a tough year of restrictions. I want to personally thank the community members of American Canyon for welcoming me to the Chief of Police position.

Now that everyone is able to travel again and school is out for the summer, I’m sure a lot of you will be taking vacations out of town. Just a reminder that criminals do not take vacations and will take advantage of you being out of town. Be sure to lock up your vehicles and residences during your vacations. If you have a residential alarm, be sure to activate it before leaving. If you have a security camera system, don't forget to join our camera registry by entering your information on our Residential and Business Camera Registration Form.

A reminder, Tuesday, August 3^rd is National Night Out. This is a wonderful yearly event where the community and first responders get to engage with one another. We are so excited to be able to have it this year, after not being able to in 2020. Please remember to register your block party for the event at CityofAmericanCanyon.org/NNO or contact American Canyon Police Department. As the date gets closer, you may also view a list of parties you can attend, if you aren’t hosting your own.

As some of you may know, your long-time community outreach Officer Jeff Scott was recently promoted to Sergeant. Please join me in welcoming Officer Nathalie Hurtado as your new community outreach Officer. Nathalie and I look forward to meeting more of you in the upcoming weeks at the community events!
