April 14, 2021
Springtime is here! It's hard to believe a year has gone by since we all started feeling the pandemic's impacts. Last Tuesday, I had the honor of presenting the 2020 ACPD Annual Report. Last year was a challenging year. We saw some alarming crimes hit our city, including a homicide in August, two other shooting cases, and three fatality traffic collisions. Through all the challenges of 2020, the residents who make up our Neighborhood Watch program and the community, in general, continue to be a partner and supporter of public safety. Thank you for your resilience, your support, and your partnership in the community.
On Thursday, April 29, 2021, 9 AM, we will be hosting another Virtual Coffee with the Cops to present the 2020 Annual Report and spend time with you in a virtual format through Facebook live. As the COVID situation continues to improve, we hope to do a real, or in-person, Coffee with the Cops soon! Virtual is convenient, but like many of you, we are all zoom-fatigued and ready to meet in person.
Around town, we want to remind all of you that vehicle burglary and catalytic convertor theft are still a problem statewide, our city included. Please report suspicious activity to the non-emergency number: (707)-253-4451. Don't forget to join our camera registry by entering your information on our Residential and Business Camera Registration Form.
Please enjoy the great weather, but do so safely, and continue to be thoughtful and kind.
Respectfully,
Oscar Ortiz Chief of Police
