AMERICAN CANYON, Calif. – Thursday, January, 28, 2021 – In a unanimous 5-0 vote on January 21, 2021, the American Canyon Fire Protection District Board of Directors voted to remove the word ‘Interim’ from District Fire Chief Michael P. Cahill’s title. 

Chief Cahill has been under contract with the Fire District as a retired annuitant since Fire Chief Glen Weeks' retirement last August. Chief Cahill will be assisting the Board in its continued efforts to recruit, identify and select future management/leadership and command staff for the District.

In his response to the Board’s action, Chief Cahill expressed his gratitude to the Board for its vote of confidence in him. “I am thankful for the Board’s commitment to the health and safety of the District personnel and the American Canyon community, as we all continue to navigate our way out of the COVID-19 pandemic while continuing the highest level of response and service that our community deserves.”
