Update to broken link: County of Napa Free Flu Shot Clinics are Available - Schedule Available Here
October 2, 2020
Hello!
Free and fair elections and the peaceful transition of power are tenets of American democracy. Throughout our nation’s history, during times of peace and times of war, during good economic times and recessions, and even during prior pandemics, our country has pulled together to implement the will of voters peacefully. The upcoming election is no different, and I encourage all American Canyon residents to educate themselves and undertake their patriotic duty to vote. Eligible residents who have not yet registered to vote may do so at the California Secretary of State website before October 19th.
In 2020, State and Local Election Officials are rising to meet the challenge of COVID-19. Every registered voter will receive a vote-by-mail ballot. Ballots will begin arriving in mailboxes next week. Voting by mail is safe and easy. Once you select your choices on the ballot, sign it, and return it. You have a few options:
- By US Mail - No stamp is required. Make sure your ballot is postmarked by November 3rd.
- In-Person - Drop your ballot at a secure dropbox, drive-thru, or Vote Center by 8pm on November 3rd. View the list of locations here.
The Vote Centers will open on October 31st. These Centers will offer voter registration, replacement ballots, accessible voting machines, and language assistance. Remember, voters who choose to vote by mail or utilize the drop-off or drive-thru options will help ensure safe physical distancing at Vote Centers. Beginning October 6th, registered voters can track the status of their ballot online here.
On a related note, the equally important 2020 Census is wrapping up. Locally we have had a more than 80% response rate! The Census is so important for all of us, and since everyone is counted only once every ten years, the high level of response matters. If you haven’t completed your Census survey, please take 5 minutes and do it now online or by calling 844-330-2020. Let me know how it was by replying to this email.
Lastly, our thoughts and prayers are with all those responding to the Glass Fire in northern Napa County – including our police officers, firefighters, and maintenance/utility personnel. Likewise, we grieve for those Napa County residents and businesses who’ve lost everything due to the recent fires. American Canyon residents are extraordinarily generous. The best ways you can help are included below.
Take care,
Jason Holley City Manager

Unhealthy Air
There are currently no fires in American Canyon, and we are safe from the Glass Fire at this time. The AC Fire Protection District is staffed and ready to respond to any emergencies in American Canyon. Please do not call 911 unless you see flames. We will continue to experience high levels of smoke and ash from the fires to our north. Take steps to limit exposure to the outside air. Get tips and more information about air quality and your health at airnow.gov.
