There are no fires currently in American Canyon.

There are no fires CURRENTLY in American Canyon. Earlier today, a small grass fire burned approximately 100’ on the northside of West American Canyon Road near Via Firenze. The American Canyon Fire Protection District remains fully staffed and stands ready to respond at times like this. This fire was quickly contained thanks to the alert members of the community who called right away. A Nixle or other immediate messaging to the community wasn't necessary because of the quick containment, small size of the fire, and lack of immediate threat to the area.

Although the Red Flag Warning was lifted earlier today, Newell Open Space will remain closed until further notice. The air quality continues to be unhealthy as fire operations continue. Stay indoors as much as possible. We ask that all residents remain alert and immediately call 911 at any sign of flames.
