There are no fires currently in American Canyon.

There are no fires CURRENTLY in American Canyon and no threat to us at this time from the LNU Lightning Complex Fire. See the latest updates at https://bit.ly/3j5Wtx6. Napa County will host a Community Briefing at 7 PM this evening on Facebook. See attached flyers.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for dry thunderstorms through tomorrow evening. Lightning from dry thunderstorms has a high potential to start new fires. American Canyon Fire Protection District is staffed and ready to respond in case of any emergencies in the city.

We ask that all residents remain alert and immediately call 911 at the first sign of flames. Newell Open Space will remain closed until further notice. The air quality continues to be unhealthy as fire operations continue. Stay indoors as much as possible.

If a fire starts here in American Canyon or an existing fire spreads our way, requiring the evacuation of any residents, a Nixle will be sent, and first responders would be in the area alerting residents to the danger. If you hear the hi-lo siren, it’s time to go.
