Notable Incidents On June 6, 2020, at 7:20 AM, Engine 211, and E11 responded to a reported vehicle fire on American Canyon Road east of city limits. On the scene, they found a pickup truck well involved in fire. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly. There were no injuries.
Vegetation Fire On Monday, June 29, 2020, at 4:51 PM, Brush 11, Engine 411, and Chief 1101 responded to a fire reported near the Newell Open Space Preserve entrance. AC crews were able to successfully contain the fire and keep it from spreading into the preserve. CalFire crews arrived and assisted with a “mop up” operation. CalFire is investigating the cause of the fire.

Annual Confidence Course American Canyon firefighters from “C-shift” participated in our “Confidence Course.” Firefighting skills are completed while breathing air from their self-contained-breathing-apparatus (SCBA). This training is performed by all firefighters annually as required by our “Respiratory Protection Program” to qualify for working in atmospheres Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH).
