Hello,
Please remember, all types of Fireworks are illegal in American Canyon (and Napa County). It is also illegal to purchase "Safe and Sane" fireworks from neighboring cities, and then bring them to American Canyon to set off. This year we are experiencing a significant uptick in unlawful firework activity. This problem is affecting not only our neighborhoods but communities across the region, state, and nation. Our Fire Protection District personnel and our partners at the American Canyon Police Department have increased patrols, but it isn't always easy to locate the source of the fireworks.
While we do our very best to track the source of fireworks, we need your help. It's invaluable to us to have extra eyes out in the community to provide tips about specific areas or people who are setting off the fireworks.
There are two ways you can help:
- To report firework activity in progress, please call (707) 253-4451, give as much detail as you can about the source (address, etc.).
- If you would like to send us an anonymous tip about an address or specific person who is firing off fireworks (but not currently in progress), please help us by submitting a Firework Tip Form here.
Please help us keep everyone in our community safe. If you see something, please say something! If we work together, we can keep everyone in our community safe, prevent wildfires, and help reduce the stress levels experienced by our residents and their pets.
Sincerely,
Glen Weeks Fire Chief

Barking Dogs A dog left out to bark all day and night isn't pleasant for the neighborhood or your four-legged family member. Please be courteous to your neighbors and not allow your dog to stay outside and bark all day or night. As a friendly reminder, the City's Municipal Code ensures the peace and comfort of residents by providing penalties to owners of dogs that cause a nuisance to neighbors by habitually barking, howling, or yelping.
Most of the time, dog owners don't realize there is a problem. If you experience frustrations due to a dog that habitually barks, howls, or yelps in your neighborhood, please try first to let your neighbor know of the problem by leaving a note or talking to them (at a distance and with a face covering, of course!). If that doesn't help, contact non-emergency dispatch (707) 253-4451 to report the problem.

Happy 10th Anniversary to our Wetlands Trails! This month we are celebrating 10 years since the grand opening of our Napa River Bay Trail! To celebrate, over the next 10 days we, along with our friends at the American Canyon Community & Parks Foundation, are going to flood our social presences with stories, photos, videos, and facts about our beloved trail system. We hope you will join in the fun!
Today, we are getting things started with the history of our Wetlands trails. Join John Woodbury from Napa County Regional Parks and Open Space District, and Randy Davis, former City of American Canyon Parks and Recreation Director, as they take a journey down memory lane.
Opportunity to Provide Input: Community Based Transportation Plan In 2018 Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA) staff began the update of the Community Based Transportation Plan (CBTP). The purpose of the CBTP is to identify Communities of Concern, based on census data and criteria, and conduct specific outreach to those communities to identify transportation gaps and needs.
Eight communities were identified in Napa County and NVTA staff conducted over 15 public outreach events to gain knowledge about what transportation improvements are important to residents in those areas. The Draft CBTP was released for public review at the June 17 Board meeting. After review and comment by the public, NVTA will bring the final CBTP back to the Board in July for adoption. Comments on the Plan can be submitted to dschmitz@nvta.ca.gov by Friday, July 3rd.
It’s quick and easy to make a positive impact on our community! Complete your 2020 Census questionnaire online or by phone (844) 330-2020.
