Hello!
I hope everyone is staying safe during our current COVID emergency. What a change to everyone’s life in such a short time!
With our new Virtual City Hall, the Community Development Department is working diligently to maintain and improve services in our Community while maintaining Safe Workplace Practices. I am so proud of our hardworking and creative team who have implemented the Virtual City Hall! Please read all about it in this month’s edition.
Speaking of Safe Work Practices, the Community Development Department has been working with our Development Community partners on construction site safety and hygiene standards. These standards protect the health and safety of vital construction workers who are working each day to improve the future of American Canyon.
Stay safe, be kind, and remember: We are All in this Together!

Active Projects in the City
The Active Project List summarizes development projects that are in various stages of the process with the City. This list is updated monthly.
Virtual City Hall While the COVID-19 Health Emergency has forced the closure of City Hall to the public, it has given our staff the time to get creative and develop innovative ways to provide services to the community. Our Virtual City Hall provides a centralized place to find the most sought-after information and services from the City. Building permits, building inspection requests (conducted via video), establishing a new water service account, and more, are all now available online. In the first month, more than 200 transactions were provided completely online! The time to provide these services is reduced by half in some cases, and we are able to maintain social distancing to help keep everyone healthy. The feedback from the development community has been positive. We will continue to refine and add additional services, and we'd love to hear from you any suggestions to further improve our processes.
