Welcome Laura Provencher! The District welcomes Laura Provencher to the team as an additional Fire Executive Assistant. Laura has previous experience in Police and Fire Dispatching, finance and most recently worked for the City of Benicia in the City Manager’s Office. Laura said, “I am excited to be joining such a dynamic group of professionals and to be serving the citizens of American Canyon.”
New Fire Engine 11 In Service The District officially placed the new “Pierce PUC” Type 1 Engine into service on February 4, 2020.
Training The February 2020 Urban Search and Rescue Drill was held at 225 James Road at the training tower. The topic was structural collapse rescue operations.
Chief Weeks, Assistant Chief Lawson, and Firefighter Abalos attended the Napa County Public Information Officer training at the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.
Probationary Firefighter Training On February 4, 2020, two of the District’s Probationary Firefighters received instruction on Wildland Training from Captain Cordeiro
Probationary Firefighters go through an extensive 18-month training/qualification program. Probationary Firefighters Preston Quick and Francisco Cano are being tested on ropes and knots skills.
Update on Antique Fire Engine (Engine 2) In July 2018, the District was fortunate to re-acquire one of its first Fire Engines. The truck is currently in Sacramento and going through a restoration process. The truck was recently painted.
