At this time, there are still no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Napa County. The most significant efforts we can all be taking is to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community, reduce the number of people infected, and protect those who are most vulnerable to severe illness. A press release was issued by Napa County today, providing community mitigation guidance to help decrease the opportunities for the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
The guidance calls for the cancellation of non-essential gatherings and events in Napa County. Details about this guidance are included below, in the County’s press release. Locally in American Canyon, the following events are cancelled:
- Dan Clark Basketball Tournament on March 14 & 15, 2020
- Active Adult Trip to Cache Creek on Thursday, March 12, 2020
- Spring Celebration Event on Saturday, March 21, 2020
- Sunrise Yoga on Thursday, March 19, 2020
- Junior Warriors Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2020
Further evaluation of our public events, programs, and services will continue. We will provide updates as soon as they are available.
Tips to Protect Yourself and Others
Community members can help protect themselves and others from COVID-19 by:
- Washing hands with soap and water, and rubbing for at least 20 seconds or using a hand sanitizer with 60% or greater alcohol content;
- Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing; and
- Staying home if you are sick.
