Notable Incident - Residential Structure Fire On Saturday, November 30, 2019, at approximately 7:38 PM, Station 11 units were dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire on West Carolyn. On arrival, crews observed flames and smoke inside a bedroom of a single-family, single-story residence without a fire sprinkler system. Engine 11 crew initiated an offensive fire attack through the front door and confined the fire to one bedroom and hallway. A fast knockdown contained the fire to “room and contents” minimizing fire damage to the actual structure. There was extensive smoke damage to the interior of the residence. No occupants were home at the time of the fire, and no injuries resulted from this incident. There were no occupants home at the time of the fire and no injuries. Napa County and Vallejo Fire Departments provided automatic aid in support of this incident.

Public Events November 11th, FD staff, and AC CERT participated in the Girl Scout Event “Be Prepared, Not Scared” emergency preparedness for kids.
On November 22nd, two lucky students from Donaldson Way Elementary redeemed their fundraiser gift certificate to “Ride on the Fire Engine.” The students rode from the Fire Station to school.

Support for Firefighter Eric Stevens The American Canyon Firefighters support Los Angeles City Firefighter Eric Stevens in his fight against ALS. Eric had a successful football career at Cal Berkeley and went on to play for the St. Louis Rams in 2013. He then changed his career path and became a Los Angeles Firefighter. In August 2019, he was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 29.
