Dear American Canyon Residents & Businesses,
American Canyon is not within the boundaries of the PG&E Public Safety Power Shut-Down.
Information travels quickly and, in times like these, it's natural to be concerned when so many are affected around us. Be assured there are no advisories in place for American Canyon residents and businesses within American Canyon city limits. We recommend all residents and businesses take this time to be individually prepared for emergencies (be self-sufficient for 72 hours). Visit our Ready AC website pages to find out how you can be ready.
Although public schools in American Canyon are not expected to lose power, many public schools in Napa are expected to be without power. Due to “complex operational issues when many campuses and facilities are without power,” the Napa Valley Unified School District has decided to close all public schools and cancel all public school activities in American Canyon, too. The most up to date information about school closures can be found here: https://www.nvusd.k12.ca.us/.
The Napa Valley Vintners Clubhouse in American Canyon and the City are partnering to provide an exciting all-day camp experience for 1st - 8th grade students from 8 AM - 6 PM at the Clubhouse (60 Benton Way) Wednesday (October 9) through Friday (October 11). The City is also seeking local high school students for volunteer opportunities at our Senior Multi-Use Center (2185 Elliott Drive) from 9 AM - 1 PM on Wednesday and Thursday. Both programs are FREE and available to everyone. An on-site waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian prior to participation.
Let's support our neighbors affected by the PSPS to our community. This is another opportunity to showcase American Canyon’s hospitality. Expect heavier traffic, use water wisely, and take the time to become prepared.
Finally, please be sure to get the latest updates on the impacts for American Canyon from our website. Much of the information being shared in the media, and other sources, does not have a direct impact on American Canyon.
