Rescheduled: Meet Joanna Ho THURSDAY 5/11
THURSDAY, May 11th at 3:30pm! Dynamic local author and educator Joanna Ho will speak about her books for children and young adults, her writing journey, and the importance of diverse representation in books at 3:30 p.m. at the Main Library. This free presentation is best suited for children in grades K thru 12 and their families.

Peeps Kits Available While Supplies Last
Pick up a free Peeps Diorama Kit from the Main Library! The kit includes a few craft supplies to help design a peep-tastic diorama. Kits are available at the Main Library at the Reference Desk on the 2nd Floor while supplies last. Peeps in the Kits are not edible. Didn't get a kit? You can enter the contest using your own supplies, too! Enter by April 16th. Come back and vote for your favorite from April 19th through April 25th!

Enjoy Earth Day inspired crafts and a scavenger hunt, too!
Join the Celebration on Saturday, April 29th from 1-5pm! Play Lotería, watch a performance by Cascada de Flores, and enjoy free fresh churros while supplies last. Free Health and Development screening services for children provided from 1-5pm and free school readiness materials provided by Alameda Family Services while supplies last. This free program is made possible through sponsorship from First 5 of Alameda County. Seating is first come, first served, and a full room is expected.

Design a one-of-a-kind bookmark inspired by the 2023 Summer Reading theme “Find Your Voice” or that celebrates books, reading, and libraries. All submitted designs will be entered into the Bookmark Design Contest and winners’ bookmarks will be printed and distributed during the Summer Reading Program. Contest forms are available for download on the library’s website(PDF, 354KB) or can be picked up from any of the three Alameda Free Library locations.
