- Measure A Citizen Oversight Committee
- The Measure A Citizen Oversight Committee in Alameda County monitors the use of funds generated by Measure A, a half-cent sales tax passed in 2004 to support essential health care services. The committee ensures that funds are spent as intended, primarily on care for low-income, uninsured, and vulnerable populations. It reviews provider expenditures, evaluates the effectiveness of services, and produces an annual report to inform the Board of Supervisors and the public. Members are appointed to represent diverse community interests. Through oversight and transparency, the committee promotes accountability and helps maintain public trust in the use of Measure A health care funds.

- West County Board of Zoning Adjustments
- The West County Board of Zoning Adjustments (BZA) is a five-member panel that reviews requests for variances and conditional use permits in unincorporated areas of western Alameda County. This includes communities such as Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, and San Lorenzo. Members are appointed by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, with two seats representing District 3. The Board operates through the Community Development Agency’s Planning Department and evaluates development proposals that do not comply with standard zoning regulations. By holding regular public meetings, the BZA ensures that land use decisions align with zoning codes and local community planning goals.
