Dear Friend,
Homelessness is one of the most urgent challenges facing our communities — and it will take all of us, working together, to build the solutions we need. Fortunately, Alameda County now has a powerful opportunity to invest in real change through Measure W, a countywide general sales tax that can fund homelessness solutions and critical safety net services. Over $650 million has already been collected, and $190 million is expected annually over the next 6 years.
Our office is hosting two Community Town Halls on Homelessness Solutions and Measure W to share more about this historic opportunity and how we can work together toward bold, community-centered investments.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the County’s homelessness plan, our office’s priorities, and Measure W, as well as ask questions, share your feedback, get involved, and help shape our homelessness plan.

P.P.S. — Amid the brutal ICE raids tearing apart our immigrant families and the outrageous disregard for our rights under the U.S. Constitution, I have been inspired by our families and communities standing up and speaking out here and across the country. I proudly joined an interfaith community vigil to keep our families together and the No Kings protest in Oakland. Please remember to know your rights and verify ICE enforcement activity with our Rapid Response Hotline. Stay safe.
