Job Readiness Bootcamp For Tri-Valley Homeless
In June, Supervisor Haubert and his Tri-Valley homeless services staff met with Alcian Lindo, Program Manager at Tri-Valley Career Center, Pleasanton, to discuss strategy to connect local unhoused residents to employment opportunities. Plans for a 5-day bootcamp came together, and Supervisor Haubert committed to provide funding. In late August 22 unhoused and recently unhoused Tri-Valley individuals completed the bootcamp, which was organized and taught by Tri-Valley Career Center staff. Classes included resume creation, job search methods, interviewing skills, networking, credit repair, financial literacy, and much more. Antendees received a resume and a Certificate of Completion. The bootcamp was held at the Vineyard Resource Center in Livermore. On the last day, eight local employers participated in a Job Fair to discuss current job openings with participants.
