Annual Holiday Toy & Food Drive
 Our annual Holiday Toy & Food Drive was a resounding success! Through your donations, the Heritage House was overflowing with toys and food which will be distributed to local nonprofit organizations in the Tri-Valley and Fremont area. Interacting with everyone who attended was wonderful, and every conversation I had was imbued with a passion to support the less fortunate, which was truly inspiring. Our community members’ willingness to uplift those around us typified this season’s purpose: to spread love, hope, and joy. Your donations exemplified the great magnanimity that forms the heart of our District, and I extend my deepest gratitude to you all for your contributions.
Washington Hospital Tree Lighting
 Attending the Washington Hospital’s Tree Lighting in Fremont with Mayor Lily Mei, Washington Hospital CEO Kimberly Hartz, my colleague on the Board, Elisa Marquez, and Councilmember Raj Salwan was a memorable experience. The festive atmosphere was heightened by the presence of “Signing Santa”, whose ability to communicate through sign language resonated with the entire community, especially touching the hearts of deaf children in Fremont. Witnessing the immense turnout was incredibly heartwarming, as it also underscored the event’s inclusive spirit. A heartfelt thank you to Washington Hospital for hosting this meaningful event.
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Provider Day
 It was an honor to officially proclaim November 28th as "In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Provider Day" alongside my colleagues last week. IHSS providers, through their unwavering dedication, play a critical role in ensuring our senior residents and people with disabilities receive essential care within the comfort of their homes. I sincerely appreciate these remarkable individuals for their profound impact, greatly supporting our County's residents.
3VCF State of Giving Gathering
 It was a pleasure to attend Three Valleys Community Foundation's (3VCF) State of Giving Gathering. This event's highlight was the awarding of 3VCF's 2023 Impact Grants to qualified nonprofits focusing on Mental Health and Wellness. My belief in our region's shared passion for our collective well-being was reinforced, and our region’s leaders were inspired by the philanthropic endeavors of our community.

Volunteer for the Point in Time Count 2024
 Contending with an issue as vast and important as homelessness requires organized cooperation, and the Point in Time (PIT) Count survey is instrumental in understanding the needs of those confronting housing insecurity. Your help would be invaluable, especially in the unincorporated areas of Alameda County. Click here to volunteer! For those who prefer an alternative approach, download "Counting Us", an app designed by EveryOne Home that allows you to “drop pins” and give estimates of how many unhoused individuals are in a specific encampment. This assists volunteers in locating specific areas to conduct surveys!
