Shawn Costello
 The District 1 advocate for disabled communities, Shawn Costello, briefed me on a number of issues ranging from public transit costs to the burden of utility bills. I'm looking forward to working with Shawn in order to achieve Alameda County's Vision 2026 goals to create accessible infrastructure and to enhance the safety, well-being and resiliency of vulnerable populations.
Livermore Rodeo Parade
 On Saturday, June 11, my office participated in the annual Livermore Rodeo Parade in downtown Livermore. In addition to our Rural Roads meetings and Equine Town Hall, we are working on a number of projects to bolster representation and improve the standard of living in East Alameda County.
Mission San Jose 225th Anniversary
 The founding of Mission San Jose took place on June 11, 1797, and represents one of the most significant historical events in the East Bay. 225 years later, I was proud to present a commendation to the Mission in honor of our history.
World Refugee and Immigrant Day Festival
 Our office helped organize and volunteer at the World Refugee and Immigrant Day Festival in Clinton Park, Oakland on June 18. Supervisor Haubert was happy to sponsor the event's toy giveaway!

Fremont
The City of Fremont is mourning the loss of former Fremont City Councilmember John A. Dutra. Mr. Dutra served on the Fremont Planning Commission from 1981 – 1984, and in 1986 was elected to the Fremont City Council where he served the community for10 years. Click here to read more.

Armchair Travelers will take place at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center on Thursday, July 14, at 1:30 p.m. Bill Leach and Greg Davis will present “Croatia, By Land and Sea,” a photographic slideshow about their respective trips to Croatia. Click here to learn more.

Dublin
"Safe and Sane" fireworks will soon be sold in Dublin from June 28 to July 4. The City of Dublin and its public safety departments urge extreme caution in their use while celebrating the Independence Day holiday.
Amador Valley Industries (AVI) will collect textiles from residences, July 4 - 8. Residents must call AVI at 925-479-9545 at least seven days in advance of the collection event to inform them that they have textiles to be collected.
Did you know that Dublin has 26.2 miles of trails? Join us in kicking off National Parks Month in July with the Dublin Trail Challenge. Walk, hike, or run the entire 26.2 miles of Dublin trails between July 1 and August 31, and earn bragging rights, plus a commemorative t-shirt.
