Rehabilitation and operation of Homekey Hotels formerly known as Comfort Inn and Days Hotel

This RFP is to solicit proposals for rehabilitation and operation of Alameda County-owned buildings, Homekey Hotel 1 (formerly Comfort Inn, “Hotel 1”) and Homekey Hotel 2 (formerly Days Hotel, “Hotel 2”).  The developer selected through this process will rehab and operate the buildings as permanent supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness under a 55-year regulatory agreement.  Both properties are in Oakland near the Oakland Airport.  Hotel 1 is a 104 room hotel and Hotel 2 has 140 rooms. Hotel 1 is located at 8452 Edes and Hotel 2 is located at 8350 Edes Avenue.  

Changes in this RFP: Major changes in this RFP include a County-funded operating subsidy; Noise and Air Studies; CDBG funds; fewer copies of applications required; referral from Coordinated Entry System as a preference, not a requirement.
