Alameda County Joined Eight Bay Area Counties and the City of Berkeley issued Health Order mandating face coverings indoors to prevent COVID-19.
- Health officials are concerned by substantial levels of community transmission now found across the Bay Area, especially among unvaccinated people, due in part to the widespread COVID-10 Delta variant which is more transmissible than previous forms of the virus.

The order requires all individuals to wear face covering when indoors in public settings, with limited exemptions.
Who should get tested?
- The CDC now recommends fully vaccinated people get tested 3-5 days if exposed to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, and to wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result.
- Non-vaccinated individuals who have not been fully vaccinated and have close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID should get tested.

We continue to remind county residents and our partners of the protections provided by:
- Getting vaccinated.
- Wearing a mask indoors.
- Frequent handwashing for all and stations or hand sanitizer in multiple public settings to support good hand hygiene.

Yesterday, I met with One Nation Dream Makers, Chevron Corporation and the Cox Family. Chevron Corporation donated gas money to One Nation Dream Makers. They are a non-profit organization that delivers healthy food to families in need.

Dine Out In Fremont This September!
Beat the heat and get out of your own kitchen next month by trying the delicious cuisine of local Fremont restaurants. The Fremont Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Fremont, is hosting the first annual Dine Out In Fremont program for the entire month of September. Diners can enter themselves for daily drawings of restaurant gift cards followed by a grand prize at the end of the month.
Here’s How it Works:
- To enter into the drawing, customers can email receipts from participating restaurants to DineOut@FremontBusiness.com or drop off to the Fremont Chamber Office at 39488 Stevenson Place, Suite 100.
- Once a customer reaches $25 in receipts, they are automatically entered for a chance to win a restaurant gift card.
- Every $25 in receipts earns an entry into the periodic drawing and also into the grand prize drawing.

Interested businesses can sign up by completing the participation form by August 10. All restaurants in Fremont are eligible to participate, and there is no entry fee (besides one $25 gift certificate) to participate for Fremont Chamber members as well as non-members to aid in COVID recovery. Restaurants are also encouraged to offer special promotions and meals.

AC Transit Services Changes Effective Sunday, August 8, 2021
Highlights of Service Changes Include:
- Increase in Transbay service levels, including additional lines and trips
- Resumption of Supplementary Service to Schools on August 9
- Launch of Line 78 Pilot on August 9, timed to connect riders to/from Alameda Seaplane Ferry route during commute hours
New schedules and line maps are being updated and will be posted on the AC Transit website shortly.

The City of Dublin has launched a Commercial Rent Relief Grant Program to assist small businesses that have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of the program is to aid small businesses in their economic recovery by providing rent relief to those small business tenants that are behind in rent payments due to the temporary closures and/or limited-service options since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Melissa Hernandez explains, "I am excited to tell you about the City's new Commercial Rent Relief Grant Program, deigned to help local small businesses who are currently behind in rent by $10,000 or more." She continues, "The Dublin City Council believes it is vital to the health of our local economy to financially support small businesses still struggling through the pandemic."
The program provides a one-time $10,000 grant to up to 100 qualified small business tenants with at least $10,000 in rent arrears, paid directly to the commercial landlord. Applications must be completed by the landlord. Interested small business tenants should contact their landlords to submit an application on their behalf.
Applications are now being accepted through Sunday, August 8, 2021. All applications will be reviewed beginning August 9, 2021; this is not a first-come, first-served program.

On July 20, Fremont City Council approved the program design for Host Site Safe Parking. Locations with a designated Assembly Use, such as faith centers, public or quasi public buildings, may apply for a permit to host persons living in their vehicles between 10 – 24 hours a night. This is one of many available tools to address the homelessness crisis in our City. To continue to support those living in their vehicles, who may need assistance with obtaining critical documents or basic car maintenance, the Human Services Department is starting a Vehicle Repair Fund that accepts community contributions.
