Last Friday, I attended the groundbreaking of the Senior Apartments in Fremont.
This is a $65 million apartment complex reserved for older homeless or low-income people. Irvington Senior Community Apartments will be built on a 1.4-acre site, at 4038 Irvington Ave. The project will feature 90 mostly one-bedroom apartments for people age 62 and older whose incomes are less than 50% of the area median income or who are homeless.

As fire season is coming, we need to be prepared. Last year was detrimental for many in our state and our county. Please make sure you are keeping track of fires near you, so you can be ready, have a to-go bag for you and your family, and keep your animals inside in case of an emergency. Thank you to our firefighters who fight for us every day, especially when it comes to fire season.
