Alameda County to Resume Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Distribution
The CDC and FDA have determined that it is safe to resume administering the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine. Alameda County plans to resume the use of our modest, existing supply of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as quickly as possible.

The Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) has also launched a brief, confidential, and anonymous survey about COVID-19 vaccines to help develop effective promotion and education materials:
Updates from the Alameda County Public Health Department
On June 15, California will fully open its economy if two criteria are met: vaccine supply is sufficient for Californians 16 years and older who wish to be vaccinated, and hospitalization rates are stable and low, especially among vaccinated individuals.
“Food Prescription” Bill Moves Ahead
Assembly Bill 368, Food Prescriptions won unanimous and bipartisan support in the Assembly Health Committee last week. The legislation expands on ALL IN Alameda County’s Food as Medicine initiative. Read more about the legislation.
Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Annual Plan Update
Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services (ACBH) is seeking Public Comment on the MHSA Annual Plan. Public comment is open until Monday, May 17, 2021. You can read the plan and submit your comments on ACBH’s MHSA webpage.

Testing for COVID-19 in Alameda County
In partnership with community partners, ACPHD is operating free COVID-19 testing locations throughout the county.
Testing is free and available to anyone with or without symptoms at all community testing sites in Alameda County. You will not be asked about immigration status and do not need insurance at any of these locations.

Covered California Special Enrollment Period: Covered California's special enrollment period runs until May 15, 2021. Apply online.
Free Tax Preparation Services: Families and individuals earning less than $56,000 a year are eligible for no-cost tax preparation through the Social Services Agency. Tax services are provided by appointment only – no exceptions. Schedule appointments online.
