Pop-Up COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics in District 3
Alameda:
The City of Alameda is offering a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Mastick Senior Center on April 17, 2021. The clinic is only open to Alameda residents aged 65 or older, people who live with someone 65 and older, and people with disabilities. Appointments are required and need to be made by Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Call the vaccine hotline at 510-747-7512 to make an appointment.
Oakland:
Native American Health Center (NAHC) is offering a FREE pop-up COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for eligible adults (18+) in Alameda County from Monday, April 5 – Saturday, April 10, 2021.
Appointments are mandatory. Call 510-434-5360 to schedule your appointment.
NAHC will be vaccinating Alameda County residents who are:

Alameda County’s Property Owner Incentive Initiative
The Alameda County Office of Homeless Care and Coordination is currently offering incentive programs for landlords/ property owners that have available housing units to rent in an effort to help permanently house residents experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Since October 2020, this program has already helped identify more than 35 units for people experiencing homelessness.
With over 8,000 people experiencing homelessness in Alameda County, it will take multiple innovative strategies to end homelessness in our community. Building strong and lasting partnerships with property owners is crucial towards achieving this goal, and the Property Owner Incentive Initiative aims to build these partnerships to help provide our unsheltered neighbors with a safe and stable place to call home.
The Property Owner Incentive Initiative provides a number of benefits to property owners, including:

Guaranteed on-time monthly payments from nonprofit organization

Financial incentives for property owner/ housing provider, such as payment of a security deposit and a $4,000 damage guarantee

A single point of contact assigned to property owner/housing provider to help with any tenant issues
-
Resident case management services to support the long-term success of the tenant
-
Low turnover
-
24-hour emergency phone number for after-hours support

Free Tax Preparation Services
Extended Until May 8, 2021
The IRS recently extended the tax filing deadline to May 17, 2021. With this extension, the Alameda County Services Agency is able to continue offering NO-COST tax preparation services to low-and-moderate income Alameda County residents through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program! The program will now run until May 8, 2021.
Tax services are provided by appointment only
No exceptions
In order to schedule an appointment, you will need to create an account through the online Appointment Scheduler using a cell phone number or e-mail address. For more information contact SSA at (510) 271-9141 or email vita.eitc@acgov.org.
Please bring required documents at your designated appointment time and complete a phone or virtual interview. You will be notified of a day and time to pick up your completed tax return.

Permanent COVID-19 Vaccination Sites in Alameda County
Federal, state, county, and other health care partners are offering COVID-19 vaccinations throughout Alameda County:

Hours of Operation: Monday-Sunday, 9 AM-7 PM
Currently vaccinating Health Care Workers, persons ages 65+, essential workers in food/agriculture, educators/child care providers, and emergency services.
Eligible residents will be notified through MyTurn.
AC Transit and BART are both offering transportation assistance to and from the Coliseum site. You will need to provide proof of your appointment in order to use the free vaccine shuttles. Visit AC Transit’s website and BART’s website for more information on these programs.

Additional Vaccination Sites: In addition to the sites operated by our public health partners, our health care partners such as Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and CVS and Walgreens pharmacies are offering COVID-19 vaccines.

California Health Corps: Register for the California Health Corps which is a State program for trained medical and healthcare workers to sign up and provide availability to assist in the COVID-19 response.

Medical Surge Volunteer Sign Up: Register as a volunteer with the County of Alameda to assist with the COVID-19 response. Medically and non-medically trained volunteers will be needed.
NOTE: Non-medical volunteers only need to complete this form
At this time, we are fortunate to have a large number of volunteer offers which may cause delays in our vetting system and background check process.
ACPHD will process these as quickly as possible in anticipation of needing additional volunteers as our vaccine allocation from the state increases. Thank you for your patience.
Covered California Special Open Enrollment Period
If you still need health coverage for 2021, Covered California has established a special enrollment period to give uninsured California more time to enroll in health coverage.
The special-enrollment period runs from February 1, 2021 through May 15, 2021.
Affordable health insurance coverage is within reach. Get started with Covered California today to see if you are eligible for financial assistance:
Once the open enrollment period ends, you will not be able to apply for coverage until the next open enrollment period at the end of this year. If you experience a qualifying life event, you may apply for coverage outside of the open enrollment period.
Testing for COVID-19 in Alameda County
In partnership with community partners, ACPHD is operating free COVID-19 testing locations throughout the county.
Testing is free and available to anyone with or without symptoms at all community testing sites in Alameda County, and is highly recommended for health care, front line, or essential workers and anyone who attended protests or other large public gatherings.
You will not be asked about immigration status and do not need insurance at any of these locations.

CA Notify: Add Your Phone.

The CA Notify app is available for Californians to opt-in to receive COVID-19 exposure alerts directly to their smartphones. Android users can download the CA Notify app from the Google Play Store, and iPhone users can enable CA Notify in their device’s settings.

Alameda County Oakland Community Action Partnership (AC-OCAP) Board Openings
AC-OCAP is now accepting applications for community representatives from CDBG District 1 in Oakland. These open seats must be filled by a representative from the low-income community. Visit AC-OCAP's website for the Board Opening applications.

CDBG District 1 (Oakland) encompasses North Oakland. Please review the City of Oakland Application Guidelines for selection criteria and a map of CDBG districts in the City of Oakland (note: these districts have different boundaries from the City Council districts).
The AC-OCAP Board is comprised of 18 members that represent public official representatives in Oakland and Alameda County, private groups and interests, and not fewer than a third are democratically elected/selected representatives from the low-income community.

Alameda County Care Connect has provided the community with a COVID-19 Rapid Response Resource Guide, which will be updated on a weekly basis. This document provides information on numerous services available from local, state, and federal government agencies, public transportation agencies, and utility companies.

Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB): ACCFB’s helpline can help connect you to a source for groceries or a hot meal today. Call the helpline at 1-800-870-FOOD (3663) or 1-510-635-3663. The helpline is available in multiple languages and operates Monday-Friday, 9 AM-4 PM. You can also visit FoodNow.net for an online directory of food distribution sites near you.

School Meals: The Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) maintains a list of school districts in Alameda County that offer free meals to families who have children enrolled in the district’s schools. Visit ACOE’s “Meal Service by District” page for more information on your child’s school district.

Dig Deep Farms (DDF) Food Hub food distribution: The DDF Food Hub is distributing food every Friday from 1 PM-2 PM at 2700 Fairmont Drive in San Leandro. Food delivery is also available for families in need. If you need food delivered, please fill out the Deputy Sheriff's Activities League (DSAL) sign-up form.

Trybe food and COVID-19 relief supplies distribution: Trybe is providing food and other basic supplies to low-income Oakland residents and families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Food delivery is also available: sign up online for food delivery.

Public Comment Procedures for Board of Supervisors Meetings During Shelter in Place
Procedures for Board of Supervisors meetings are subject to change to improve videoconferencing tools. Please check the Board of Supervisors' website for the most up-to-date guidelines.
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors will continue to conduct essential government business at our regularly scheduled Board meetings.
While in-person participation is limited to essential personnel, we are committed to providing the public with live broadcast and remote opportunities to participate in public comment during the Shelter in Place order. The following guidelines allow for public participation in Board meetings while following safe social distancing practices:

Members of the public who wish to watch the Board of Supervisors meetings, are encouraged to view the live stream online at:

We recommend against using Internet Explorer to view the meetings. We recommend using Google Chrome or other browsers to view the meetings.
